ShadowNET Table Rules - Jack Snipe

The Golden Rule: The GM is always right.

That is to say all table decisions are final, even if they are wrong. When I say: “This is my decision, and that’s final.” you do not continue arguing. Feel free to bring it up after the run or take it up with the GM Head, Rules Team, Metaplot Team, or Investigation if you don’t find my decision satisfactory. Arguing back after the final decision is made is a great way of not getting invited again.

The Silver Rule: The GM can be wrong.

If you notice me misuse a rule, that is actually in all likelihood because I fucked up or misread a rule. Feel free to call me out (ideally with a page reference) once. I’m a reasonable man and will listen to other rules interpretations before making a decision. Once that decision is made, please refer to the golden rule.

Rule 1: Temporary Edge

If you do something awesome you deserve to get an edge, even if you are at full edge. For this reason at my table the temporary edge pool is not capped by your permanent edge.

Rule 2: Looting

Looting[1] is allowed on my tables with a few caveats:

  1. No looting of milspec gear or availability >20 gear unless that is the express purpose of the run.
  2. Loot needs to be paid for at the end of the run at a rate of 1000¥ per 1500¥ gear value or 1 karma per 3000¥ gear value.
  3. Looting factors into run rewards, your loot cannot exceed the total RVP for the run.
  4. Looting can have consequences. Think carefully before looting that security armor from the Red Samurai.

Rule 3: Contacts

Contacts are awesome. If you meet a NPC you like during one of my runs make a note of it. At the end of the run tell me you want to acquire this NPC as a contact. You will have to pay the contact cost (1RVP[2] for a 1/1 contact and 1RVP per +1 in either stat) from your run rewards. Connection will be set by GM decision, loyalty (within reason) will be set by player decision.

Rule 4: PVP

Consensual PVP[3] is allowed on my table, so long as it does not negatively impact the player experience for the other players.

Non Consensual PVP is not allowed on my table, ever.

[1] By looting I mean “picking up an item during the run and keeping it for future runs”, you can always pick up an item and use it during the run, no matter the availability or the milspec status of the iutem.

[2] The RVP (Reward Value Point) conversion rate as set by the ShadowNET is 1rvp:1karma:2000¥.

[3] Consensual PVP is defined as PVP where both players agree that they want to fight one another, either using skill tests or weapons.
