What’s a HUB? Where is our HUB? Skills Fair: April 2 Events Calendar

What is a HUB?

Seattle Emergency Hubs are places where people can gather and

get or give help after a disaster. Neighbors exchange information and

resources, and help each other solve problems. There are over 50 of

them around the greater Seattle area.

Who runs them?

You do! Seattle Emergency Hubs are planned and run entirely by

volunteers.

In case of a major disaster (in our area, most likely an earthquake),

there will NOT be enough city resources to reach everyone who

needs help.

Neighbors must plan to rely on their own household preparations for

14 days, minimum. Fortunately, they also have each other. Which is

where the HUB comes in.

Where is our HUB?

Our HUB is located in the parking lot of the MLK FAME Community

Center at 3201 E Republican St, Seattle, WA 98112.

What will I find there?

Right now? Not much! An empty box. But we need help filling it. You

can assist us by visiting our Hub Registry and purchasing an item for

the neighborhood! (We have a joint registry with the Madison Park

Hub—just make sure you select Madison Valley from the dropdown

menu)

Disaster Preparedness Skills Fair on Sunday April 2, 1-4pm

What do I do after a Disaster? I have NO IDEA!

You’ve come to the right place! We will have a Disaster Skills Fair at

the MLK FAME Center on Sunday April 2, from 1 to 4 pm. Come and

learn some basic skills to be ready for THE BIG ONE! Meet your

neighbors: They will be your greatest resource in an emergency.

We invite you to help!

We need volunteers to help man the various skills tables. Before the

event begins, volunteers will learn what is discussed at each station.

Visit signup.com/go/acgNbcp to sign up.
