D.A.R.E. Essay

You will be writing a five paragraph argumentative essay in which you express why it is important to stay drug free.  Be sure to include in your essay:

•  An introduction which states the reasons why you should be drug free.
• Three paragraph body with each paragraph being a separate reason it is important to stay drug free.  Make sure to support your reason with facts.
• Closing paragraph
• This essay will need to be typed in a 16 size font
•  Each paragraph needs to be at least 5 sentences in length
• Use transition words
•  Make sure you indent each paragraph

Start by thinking back about all the things you have learned in D.A.R.E. class. Take a few moments to go through your D.A.R.E. workbook to review all the information contained in the D.A.R.E program.  Highlight or underline important facts or information you would like to include in your essay.  Then start writing your first draft.
