Key:

DESF: Deaf Education Support Forum. Established in 2009, the DESF comprises representatives of organisations involved in d/Deaf education and others, meeting at regular times through the year for the sharing of information, the pooling of expertise and the discussion of issues related to the education of d/Deaf pupils and students of all ages. The current adept chair and vice chair sit on this forum, attending meetings in London. Some minutes of meetings can be found here: DESF minutes

BATOD: The British Association of Teachers of the Deaf. The sole professional association for Teachers of the Deaf in the UK representing the interests of Teachers of the Deaf and the children and young people they teach. The current adept chair sits on the national executive committee of BATOD. BATOD Website

BDA: British Deaf Association. Run by Deaf people for Deaf people, the BDA’s aim is to develop greater understanding in the country as a whole of what deafness means, and to raise money to finance its community development and campaigning programme. BDA Website
