No Team Participation

The Girls Team had limited success during the season as a team.  Their top result came at the Brown County Meet with a 5th place finish.  The team was led most of the season by Kirby Burkett and Melissa Malcore.

The Boys Team had a very successful season with 7 team victories including the City, Brown County, and FRVC Conference Meets.  The leading individuals for the team were Ross Umentum with 3 finishes in the top 5 and Brian Estel with 2 top 5 finishes.

The girls had limited success with two 2nd Place finishes during the season and a third place finish at the ashwaubenon Invitational.  The team was led most of the season by Stephanie Blackman, Amanda VandenAvond, and Kirby Burkett.  

The Boys Team had a very successful season winning 7 meets during the year including the City and Brown County Meets.  The team missed going to the WIAA State Meet by just 2 points when they were edged out by Pulaski 73 to 75 for second place.  The team was led by Jonathon Conrad who had 3 individual victories during the year and 4 other top five finishes.  His victories included the City Meet and the FRVC Conference Meet.  Jonathon qualified for the WIAA State Meet where he finished in 18th Place.  Joining him at the state meet was Ross Umentum who was competing at the State Meet for the 2nd year in a row and finished in 23rd Place.  Ross also had 6 other top 5 finishes during the year.

The Preble girls team had a successful season wining 2 meets and placing 2nd at the FRVC Conference Meet.  The team was led early by Amanda VandenAvond with 3 top 5 individual finishes.  As the season progressed Stephanie Blackman emerged as the leading runner for the team with a top 5 finish at the Plymouth Relays and a top ten finish at the Ashwaubenon Invitational.

The boys team had a very successful season winning 6 meets during the year including the City and Brown County titles.  They missed qualifying for the WIAA State Meet by 6 points finishing 3rd to New London.  The Team was led by Andrew Delvaux with 8 top 5 finishes and Justin Metsa with 4 top 5 finishes.  Coming on late in the season was Kyle Soukup who qualified for the WIAA State Meet as an individual as well as having 8 top 10 finishes.

The girls had some success winning 2 meets during the season and finishing high in several others.  The team was led by Ann Marie Boyd with 6 top 5 finishes during the year.  She topped off her season by qualifying for the WIAA State Meet where she finished in 46th place.

The boys had another successful season with 5 team victories including the City and FRVC Conference titles.  They finished in 2nd place at the WIAA Sectional qualifying for the WIAA State Meet where they finished in 10th place.  The team was led by Kyle Soukup who had 3 meet victories and 3 other finishes in the top 5.  Kevin Hall came on during the season finishing with 5 top 5 placing in meets.  Adam Zamzow was the top finisher at the State Meet with a 33rd Place finish.

The girls had a successful season with 2 team victories and many other top finishes.  The team was once again led by Ann Marie Boyd who won 2 meets and finished in the top 5 in 5 other meets.  She was an individual qualifier for the WIAA State Meet where she finished in 45th place.  Nicole Seibert came on in the 2nd half of the season to be the team’s number 2 runner.

The boys had a highly successful season with 9 team victories which included the City, Brown County, FRVC Conference and the WIAA Sectional meets.  They finished in 9th place at the WIAA State Meet.  The team was once again led by Kyle Soukup with 3 individual victories including winning the Conference Championship.  He finished off his season with a great 8th place finish at the WIAA State Meet.  Other top runners for the boys team were Kevin Hall and Greg Rettler.  Kevin had 4 top 5 finishes including a 2nd place finish at the FRVC Conference Meet and Greg had 3 top 5 finishes.

This marked Jack Drankoff’s 37th and final season as Preble’s Head Cross Country Coach.  Jack started coaching the Hornets in 1968 and led them to hundreds of victories including a State Championship and a state runner-up title.  Jack’s replacement will be Dave Loritz who was one of Jack’s greatest runners and has served as his assistant for the last 5 years.
