Day 3

http://listeningadventures.carnegiehall.org/ypgto/game.aspx

If you have already listened & “unlocked” the garage door, you will see a SAFARI MAP at the bottom of the book.   If you click on the red house in the circle, you will start over.  If you click on the green padlock, you will have to unlock the garage door again.

If you  have a computer, go onto think central and reread The Extra Good Sunday to recall the events in the story.

Think of a time when you had to do something you weren’t familiar with doing  and had to learn something new.

On a piece of paper, write a story about a time you had to do something new. Explain what you had to, any problems you experienced, and what you did to work through your struggle. Make sure you have a beginning, middle and end to your story and that you stick to the topic.

Turn this story in to your teacher.

Total 30 min.

Choose 4 digits (you can roll a dice to help you get your random digits).  Make the biggest number you can make with them.  Make the smallest number you can make with them.  Repeat these steps until you have done it 10 times.  Put all of your smallest numbers in order from least to greatest.

Write on a paper to turn into  your teacher.

Practice Fact triangles for 10 minutes.

Total 30 min.

Music:

Or, begin on the tan-colored map & roll in Uncle Ollie’s truck to find the instruments in the safari!

OR-if you click on PRACTICE ROUND at the beginning instead of “new game”, it should take you directly to the SAFARI MAP.

Day 2: Woodwind Pond & String Savanna

Day 3: Brasslands & Percussion Paradise

Now that we have had some eLearning days, you probably have a good idea of whether or not you like them.  Write a good third grade persuasive letter to convince Dr. Goad that eLearning is a good idea or a bad idea.  Be sure to use good evidence to support your opinion.  It must be written in your best handwriting and you must use the friendly letter format.

Turn this paper in to your teacher.

30 min.

Write these on a piece of paper.

Make story word problems

for each of these multiplication number sentences:

3 x 4 = 12

4 x 5 = 20

8 x 7 = 56

9 x 8 = 72

(For example: 5 x 2 = 10

There were 5 stalls in the barn. There were 2 horses in each stall. How many horses were in the barn?)

Turn this paper in to your teacher.

30 min.

Non-internet:

Do music sheet of Day 3-this was given to you with your whole packet of papers.

Turn this in.
