Gottshall Block Outline
- Eligibility
- Everyone who owns or can borrow a chisel.
- Block must be started on or after the scheduled start date.
- Rules
- Stock can be of any species.
- Block can be milled with either power or hand tools but must be 3x7x.75in (76x178x19mm)
- All cuts after the block is milled must be made by hand, with only chisels. There are no restrictions to the number of or style of chisels used. No guide blocks. Saws are not chisels. Mallets are acceptable.
- Chisels must have flat backs, no gouges. Don’t be a pedant.
- Marking knives and or dividers can be used for marking only. Presented to the stock once per line, basically.
- All cuts to match the below diagram, including all dimensions
- Prizes
- Project lead will reward winner(s) with a, likely goofy, bit of server flair and bragging rights over meaningless internet ghosts.
- Odds
- I have no idea, be good at sharpening and channel the force.
- Rights
- Lol
- Holy Judgment
- Why is this even here and what does it mean?
- Disqualification
- Cheating
- Being an asshole
- General pedantry
- Winner Selection
- Criteria will be objective performance to the dimensions listed on the diagram.
- Tiebreakers will be the whim of the Gods and Stars.
- Submissions
- Please submit photos (or album links) to the #photo-gallery channel of the active project for consideration. Photos should include:
- A rule laid by, an in, each element to gauge their accuracy. You do not need an individual photo for each as a rule can be laid across multiple elements at one.
- A clear photo of the details of each element. Again, this need not be a separate one for each and does not need to be independent of the ruler photos.
- You’re looking to represent the accuracy and the execution of each element.
- Disputes
- Disputes on rules, winners or judgment can be emailed to whatthehelliswrongwithyou@getbent.com
