1 Hour Before the Meal | |||||
1 | Fill up one side of the sink with soapy water for dirty dishes to soak in while you are cooking if you have a compartmentalize sink. | For pork ribs: Take out measuring cups, soy sauce, vinegar, sugar, Chinese cooking rice wine, & water. | |||
2 | Wash and cook the rice. | ||||
2 | Take out pot for pork ribs and put on stove. | ||||
3 | Wash pork ribs with cold water. | ||||

| For pork ribs: add sugar first followed by water, soy sauce, Chinese cooking rice wine, and vinegar to pot. | |||
5 | Turn on stove to low heat and stir until sugar is dissolved. | ||||
6 | Add pork ribs to pot. Put lid on. Let it boil under high heat for a total time of ~30 minutes. | ||||

| Take out all ingredients needed for Oriental Salad Dressing: vegetable oil, sesame oil, sugar, black pepper, soy sauce, rice vinegar. | |||
8 | For Oriental Salad Dressing: Take out measuring tools needed for making the dressing, such as measuring cup & measuring spoons. Put vegetable oil, sesame oil, sugar, black pepper, soy sauce, rice vinegar into a dressing bottle. Make sure bottle has a secure lid. Shake to mix. Taste. | ||||
9 | Put dirty dishes from dressing-making into the sink. | ||||

| Take out bundle of green onions. Cut off green onion roots. | |||

13 | Drain can(s) of mandarin oranges. | ||||
14 | Put spring mix into salad bowl or aluminum tray. Place mandarin oranges on top of spring mix. Place fried Chow Mein on top of spring mix. Place chopped green onions on top of spring mix. | ||||
15 | After pot boils skim top of pot for impurities and simmer under low-med heat. Take pot lid off to prevent water from spilling over. | ||||
16 | Try one piece of meat to check if it is completely cooked. | ||||
17 | Wash dirty dishes. | ||||
18 | **Mix sauce & salad right before eating: Shake bottle of sauce until it is homogenous. Put on food-handling gloves and pour sauce on spring mix and mix. | ||||
