 Introduction Paragraph: “ This will be our first Matatini without our Koro Pā, ” said Annette.  She was talking to a Te Waka Huia member, who were Singing at the Hotel. It wouldn’t be long before they would be on  stage.

Detail Paragraph 1:  Ngapo Wehi will not be with Te Waka Huia to watch the Performance at Te Matatini,  because he passed away late last  year. Te Waka Huia members are sad because Ngapo Wehi will not be there with them and this is their first stand since he died.

Detail Paragraph 2: Ngapo was the Rangatira of Te Waka Huia. Him and his wife Pimia Wehi were famous for kapa haka. They were also in Waihirere Kapa haka rōpu from Waihirere in Gisborne. They are both buried in Waihirere and they really missed them.

Detail Paragraph 3: Te Waka Huia were ready to go on stage. They were ready to do the whakaeke, some waiata, moteatea, haka and poi. Tapeta led his ropu on to the stage, Tomeka did his mau rakau solo in front, and Annette twirled her poi. They were all excited to be together on stage again.

Conclusion Paragraph: When Te Waka Huia finished, Tapeta Wehi Said ” I  hope Koro Pā is Proud of us.”  They Thought that they won, but they came 2nd.  But they were happy because they still have a taonga.
