[1]

Book cover, Tensions in the American Dream

Summary: The early colonial writers wrestled with tensions and issues that moved them to action. Are some of the same tensions and issues present today? Where can information to address this current tension/issue be found? Are there answers to today’s issue?

Learning Target:         I can generate my own question to research, viewing the tensions from Colonial times through a contemporary lens.

Learning Target:         I can conduct research on people and parallel events of significance in order to understand if society is capable of conquering such issues or not.

STEP 1:

Using your list of viable tensions for the colonists, choose one of the tensions that you think still exists in America today and come up with three of your your own possible research questions about it. ( Self generated question) If you feel that all of the tensions that existed for the colonists have been resolved in contemporary society, frame your question around how that happened.

STEP 2:

Watch the link Creating A Good Research Question[2] to help you get started.

STEP 3: Create2.jpg

Write three good research questions you could investigate regarding the tensions or issues that started in colonial times and that America is still wrestling with it.
