30th December, 1932.
Dear Dr. Baumann,
I received your letter of December 1st,[1] and regret the delay in answering it, but I have been absent from London and was unable to attend to my correspondence.
I fully sympathise with your desire to come over, with your colleague, to play in London, but I cannot do otherwise than tell you frankly that matters here are also very serious, and so many of your colleagues are already here, and difficulties [sic], I cannot take the responsibility of advising you to come over.
However, if you are able to arrange to come over and give concerts in London, we will be pleased to see you and greet you here in our home.
Believe me, | Yours sincerely,
Dr. Julius Baumann,
Rue des Glaïeuls 34a,
Brussels.
