As Founder, President, and CEO of the Ruby Network (Ruby Lane, RubyLUX, Real or Repro), Tom Johnson is a veteran of the technology industry and an e-commerce innovator whose career spans 30 years. A skilled programmer with keen business savvy, his career began with a classic IBM assignment in Tokyo, Japan where he worked closely with clients such as Nissan, Sony, Toyota, and Honda followed by work in Germany, London, and Detroit.
A love of collecting 1950’s California pottery led to his vision of a unique website catering to antiques and collectibles. Combining his passion for vintage with his high-tech background, Tom created Ruby Lane in 1998 and named the site in honor of his mother Ruby.
A visionary and phenomenon in today’s Internet world, Tom has defied the frenzy of venture capital backed start-ups by organically building several groundbreaking platforms. His dedication, drive, and vision have kept Ruby Lane at the forefront of ecommerce where it stands as the world’s largest curated marketplace for vintage and antiques.
Tom graduated with top honors from the University of Minnesota, with a B.S. in Computer Science, with a Minor degree in Mathematics and Music. He splits his time between New York City and Naples, Florida with his husband and their dog Cody.

Gisele joined the team as Chief Marketing Officer and is responsible for overseeing marketing and sales initiatives while developing new strategies and revenue streams.
Hired by 1stdibs 10 years ago to help build it into the luxury website and brand it is today, she served as Vice President of Marketing and Sales, Director of Advertising and Director of Estates who consistently brought in a significant percentage of total revenue. In parallel, she also worked from the start on the build-up of another successful platform for manufactured home designs (Design Center Search) that became Architectural Digest’s online product search (ShopAD). Having previously managed several European manufacturers’ subsidiaries, Gisele has a unique perspective and deep knowledge of all aspects of the design industry.
Gisele has a PhD from Princeton University.

For over 30 years, Robert Burge has been a leading expert and dealer in the field of English and Continental antique furniture and accessories, as well as an authority in the photography art market.
Mr. Burge started his career in the Photography Department at the Museum of Modern Art and then became Assistant Director of Pace/Mac Gill Gallery on East 57th Street. As President of Yale Burge Antiques, Inc. since 1991,he has broad experience in buying and selling European furniture to designers, architects, and collectors.
Additionally, Mr. Burge has forged excellent working relationships with the top New York auction houses.
Recently he has provided consultation services to top Interior Design Firms,
Private Collectors, and web platform RubyLux.
