Important Information on the Back

Announcements:

Students should be reading for 20 minutes each night (with a minimum of five minutes of reading aloud). We have a school-wide reading goal: every week, students should try to read to an animal or a stuffed animal! Many studies have shown that reading aloud to an animal can improve students’ confidence and reading ability. This can also count for our classes goal of reading 100,000 minutes - make sure to write down the minutes read on your reading chart! The number or chapters or books read will be the amount of pennies our class will get to donate to the animal shelter. Keep reading!

NPA loves volunteers! We are always in need of volunteers to read to students during lunch time. If you are interested in reading during lunch (11:00 AM) or would like to volunteer at a different time, please contact Mrs. Elgan or Mrs. Dotson at the front office.

If you would like to donate to our classroom, we are in need of pencils.

Students have been assigned a new poem to memorize.  Students will recite “Knoxville, Tennessee” on Friday, April 26th.

Students will have a test in History on Thursday, April 18th. Students will have a test in Science on the skeletal system on Monday, April 22nd.

A permission slip for next week’s field trip to the Clark Planetarium was sent out on Monday, April 15th. Each student MUST have this permission slip signed in order to go on the field trip. Please turn the permission slip in by Friday, April 19th.
