Test Season 2 Delayed

Zeriyah on the official forums:

During today’s Hearthstone closed beta maintenance (Thursday, January 2nd), we’ve discovered some pesky sprites that are currently preventing us from properly transitioning from Test Season 1 to Test Season 2. Due to these issues, we are extending the duration of Test Season 1 until we can ensure a smooth transition.

When the servers come back up from maintenance today, player ranks will not have changed, and Test Season 1 will continue until further notice. “

Season 2 has also been delayed in Europe.

Some people aren't opening card packs until new cards become available. Are cards in pack are decided when he get? or when open?

Zeriyah: Card packs purchased now contain cards available in this set. They won't contain new cards if opened a year later.

Is there any reward for next test season? or there will be no reward until test season end?

Zeriyah: No rewards until we're done with testing seasons.

Will adventures be in the beta or something being saved for release?

Ben Brode: They are for post-release.

Are adventures going to be paid content, or part of the core game?

Ben Brode: Not sure - only thing I know is they will be rad. :)

Crazy Game Stories

Listener Story from: Taz

I am trying to grind up when I can, currently rank 11, and am playing a Mage deck I saw on Veevs stream, its pretty simple Mage Rush with Pyroblast for finish and Ice Block for stall.  I go first and from my initial three cards I keep Frostbolt, and Kobold Geomancer, shipping back one card and getting a fireball in return.  Turn one I get an Archer, and decide to just pass the turn, his turn one he coins out Millhouse...  I was thinking ok thats not so great for him, then I drew Pyroblast, before I started my turn I at least had the decency to say sorry, then my turn two was, Geomancer, Frostbolt his Millhouse, Fireball him for 7, Pyroblast him for 11, your turn :)  From there it was pretty much done, do you think he took Millhouse out of his deck after that?

I'm writing today to let you know that I followed a piece of your advice and am glad I did. I was one of the fortunate few to get into the closed beta early and have been playing for well over 2 months. During that time I was becoming increasingly frustrated with the walls I was hitting in both Arena and Ranked play. I am a newcomer to TCG's, even though I have always known about them, so my deck building experience is limited. I never expected to be great just starting off, but I did expect to see some self improvement as I played. Instead it seemed that I was always getting owned in Arena play and never progressing very far in Ranked play.

Basically says he had a real rough time starting Hearthstone and did not see a lot of self-improvement in the first 2 months of play.

So I decided to take a break and just leave the game for a while...until I heard Garrett suggesting that you have to have fun with the game, and that everybody should have a "Fun Deck" that they like to play around with.

So that's exactly what I did. I built a themed PIRATE deck with the Paladin. I call it "The Theramore Privateers" I AM HAVING A BLAST! It is a paladin deck with all the Pirates (Parrots included) and I only play it in casual. It has really made a difference in my playing habits. Now when I am getting nowhere in Arena or Ranked play, instead of getting frustrated with my lack of deck building skills, I hop onto the casual play and have a relaxing fun time just playing the game.

Thanks for the advice and I think you should mention it again for those who might have missed it. That this is a game that should be enjoyed, so find a deck that makes you happy and play it.

Huzzah!

I found this post where someone mocked up a Diablo Hearthstone game.

Would you guys rather see new Hearthstone games based on individual Blizzard properties like this (WoW based, Diablo based, etc.) or see an overall Blizzard melting pot of characters in a single Hearthstone game (i.e. Tyrael vs. Thrall and playing a mix of characters and spells) ?

Trawgy (SCIENCE! Question)

Hey Americans and Canadian,

I have just recently gotten into the hearthstone beta and I am loving it. You guys provide great commentary on all the different aspects of the game. Now enough with the butt kissing and onto my question. I have seen stealth creatures get buffed with taunt and then attack. What would happen if a stealth creature had taunt and remained stealth? From what I understand about stealth the creature cannot be targeted by minions or targeted spells, But taunt states that the minion must be targeted before attacking other minions.

Thanks for the time,

Trawgy
