Join Wildlands Conservancy and the Monocacy Chapter of Trout Unlimited for a morning of planting native trees and shrubs to improve the riparian buffer along Monocacy Creek! We will be planting at a site where dam removal and instream restoration work was completed. This event will give volunteers the opportunity to help us continue making improvements to this section of Monocacy Creek and the surrounding streambanks.
Native trees and shrubs are being planted along the stream to provide wildlife habitat, reduce flooding and erosion, restore the stream to a more natural setting, and to filter runoff. This project is made possible through support from the Coldwater Heritage Partnership and the Lehigh Valley Greenways Conservation Landscape Initiative.
