About the role
Reporting to the Commercial Director, working day-to-day for the Training Business Manager and working with our developers, you will be part of the team that produces digital learning content for the Open Data Institute, supports events & marketing and manages day-to-day maintenance of the ODI websites.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wishes to help develop content platform and content that people want to learn from and pass on; and drive our reach across the web.
You will be responsible for:
- Day-to-day maintenance, usability and front end functionality the Open Data Institute web sites
- Liaising with the technical team on web development
- Audio, video, photo and slide production of our lectures, workshops, events, and courses
About you - you must have the technical skills, knowledge, experience and interpersonal skills that will enable you to do the following:
- Update training course and event details
- Email newsletter production and campaign delivery
- The creation of design templates for all our learning and research materials
- The post-production of learning content
- Content management and collaboration with marketing and events manager
- Consistent and appropriate meta data management for all content
- Enabling all our content to be easily findable and searchable
- Understand the best platforms and services to reach those we are working and communicating with
- Proven experience working in digital and web production
- Proven experience in audio and video recording and post-production
- A proven and strong sense of design and use of images
- Photograph and image editing
- Excellent front-end web production skills including HTML, CSS, Javascript
- Working knowledge of email, mobile and social media platforms - how should the ODI be thinking about mobile and tablets?
- Managing and producing content for Drupal and other content management systems
- Familiarity with using open source software
- Proven PowerPoint/Keynote and document templating design skills
- An understanding and implementation of organic SEO and search
- The ability to deliver on time to deadline
- Understand and implement web and social analytics for reporting, marketing and content optimisation
- Experience working with technology or web development teams
- An excitement for the possibilities of the Internet and all things digital
Desirable:
- Editorial and writing experience
- Other scripting or programming languages
- Knowledge of Open Data and open systems
- Knowledge of Open Access, Open Education, MOOCs
- Familiarity with MailChimp, Eventbrite and/or CapsuleCRM
- User centred design experience
- Photographer
