Overview and Directions:
This lesson will introduce you to the 2 most important resources in North Africa and Southwest Asia: Oil and Water. For this lesson you will complete a number of investigative and exploratory activities to help you better understand the importance of oil and water in this region of the world.
You will begin by reading and analyzing some resources and articles on water in the region and completing a information organizing activity and map interactive assessment. Then, you will learn about oil in the region and follow the directions to create an information outline, have a discussion with your classmates and peers, and create an illustration or visual aid to show your understanding, and conclude with some final reflection questions. Carefully read and follow the directions on each of the activities that coordinate with this lesson to successfully develop your understanding and knowledge of water and oil as important resources in North Africa and Southwest Asia.
