Day of languages

The 26th of September is the European Day of Languages. This Day was made as an project from European Union to encourage people to learn languages across Europe. This day is celebrated in the whole Europe since 2001 and also we in our school remembered it. In most classes were students learning about other languages and tried to understand inhabitants in these countries more.

We were working in our class on interactive game with basic sentences written in european languages. We usually learn English, German and French, but now we added Spanish, Romanian, Portuguese and Polish. Most of these languages have their roots in Latin, like Italian, Spanish, Romanian… we can see the similarities between them. We as Czechs understand some words from Polish, because it has slavic origin, so this language was the easiest one for us.

We learnt some new phrases and were looking for the differences and similarities between all studied languages - there are a lot them and we hopefully got to understand more than we did earlier.
