Plan of Salvation

There is no greater choice that a person can make in this life than the one which prepares them for heaven.

If you would like to receive Jesus Christ as your Savior we here at SFBC want you to know how easy it is to know beyond a shadow of a doubt that you have made preparations to meet Him as one of His children.

First of all, the Bible tells us:

Romans 3:23 All have sinned and come short of the glory of God.

It means that no one ever has lived a life a part from Jesus, that measures up to what God the Father expects in His holiness. All of us have come short.

That is where Jesus comes in for us. We can't get to where God demands, so Jesus came to pay for our short comings.

That brings us to Romans 6:23 For the wages (price) of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

It means that because of our coming up short, because we have all sinned, the price of that sin is death. If God would have stopped there, we would all be in trouble. He tells us that God’s gift of eternal life is available THROUGH Jesus His Son.

Here is how God tells us this can happen.

Romans 10:9 says; That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

In other words, if you personally believe that Jesus Christ is real and in your heart, by faith you believe that God the Father raised Jesus (God the Son) from the dead then you can be saved. The key is the next verse.

Romans 10:10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Again, with the heart or by faith we accept the fact that Jesus died, was buried and rose on the third day. In other words by faith we believe that Jesus who was righteous or perfect made payment for all sin when He died on the cross. It was at that moment that all our wrong doings could be replaced with the right doings (righteousness) of Jesus not only at the cross, but His whole life.

When we accept God’s gift of eternal life (John 3:16), we accept Jesus making payment for our unrighteousness. In reality, by faith we become right in God’s eyes not because of our actions, but because of what Jesus did for us.

It is at that moment we finish out the last part of Romans 10:10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

At the moment we exercise faith in Jesus Christ, we confess that faith in Him before others, not just at that moment, but for the rest of our lives.

If you have prayed and asked for God’s free gift through the forgiveness of your sin, God has placed you into His family. You have now become a part of God’s family with His promise of eternal life.

Please let us know if you have received Christ as your Savior. It is important that you let folks know at the church you are going too. If you do not have a church home we would like to invite you to come to Startown First Baptist. We would love to see you.

God bless you in your new walk with Jesus!
