In order to work with the lightboard, you must install the eGlass Fusion software on your laptop. You can download eGlass Fusion for PC/Windows or MacOS.

Getting Started

  • Press the power buttons under the light board. There are two different types of lights:
  • Instructor Lights: helps the viewer see the instructor better
  • Glass Lights: makes the writings on the lightboard more visible
  • Dim the lights in the room
  • Only use the provided markers on the eGlass
  • If using PowerPoint, make your backgrounds black to make your annotations easy to read

Project a Browser Window

To project a webpage, click “Browsers”. A browser window will appear.  Navigate to the desired page.

Click on the “Settings” icon on the top right to make the page transparent or remove the background from the webpage.  That may make it easier for you to annotate by using the marker on the lightboard.

Project a Powerpoint or an image

  • Open the “Chameleon bar” on the right side
  • Import any files you wish to share
  • Drag the files into the main body of the screen when you’re ready to share them, and click the “X” to remove them.  Use the Settings for each file to remove transparency/backgrounds if necessary.

Record a Video Using the Light Board

Open eGlass Fusion on your laptop.  A taskbar will appear at the bottom (if not click on the little arrow at the bottom center):

You can use the Record, Pause, or Snapshot button on the taskbar to manage your recording. After you stop the recording, it will be saved on your computer.

Save Location:  By default, the recorded videos, images, and documents will be saved to the following location on the computer:  C:\User\Documents\eGlassFusion

NOTE:  Studies show that short videos - 6 minutes or less - are best for online viewing.  Cover only one specific topic in the video.  Short videos are easier to make and require little to no editing.

Upload your recordings to Panopto to share with Students

  • Open Blackboard and go to the desired course
  • Click on “Class Recording | Panopto”
  • Click on “Create” near the top
  • Select “Upload media”
  • Navigate to the eGlassFusion folder located in C:\User\Documents\eGlassFusion and select the video you want to upload to Panopto and then click “Open”. It might take several minutes depending on the size of the video.
