1. May 3rd Menomonee Falls Meet: High Point Winners and Swimmers of the Meet:

Over 40 swimmers participated in our inaugural meet of the 2014 Long Course/Spring/Summer Season.  Not only did the kids have a good time, but the coaches and parents did as well.

Keep in mind that meets are important for many reasons.  At this point of the swimming season, meets point out to us what swimmers specifically need to work on in practice.  Our newer and younger swimmers are working to become legal in their 100 IM’s; concurrently, they’re working on their starts.  All of our swimmers in all of our groups are working with a special focus on their turns :)!

Last Saturday, we had many swimmers who earned best time buttons. We also had 4 swimmers who earned beautiful high point awards.  Jack Gorski (age 12) placed first in his age group by scoring the greatest number of points for all of his combined events on Saturday.  Steven Gorski (9), Izzy Doczy (10), and David Jensen (12) each earned second place high point awards for their age groups.  Congratulations to all 4 athletes!

Who and what is the Swimmer of the Meet you ask?  After each meet, one female swimmer and one male swimmer from SST-Y South Age Group 1, Age Group 2, Age Group 3, Super 8, Schroeder Star, and SuperStar Groups is acknowledged as the Swimmer of the Meet.  A number of criteria is considered for this honor, including meet performance, practice attendance, improvement, sportsmanship, positive attitude, swimming an event for the first time, swimming an event legally, etc.

David Jensen is our Male Swimmer of the Meet.  David trains in Age Group 1, and he has been working especially hard at practice.  Our Female Swimmer of the Meet is Izzy Doczy who swims in Age Group 2.  Ask Izzy (or any of the Age Group 2 swimmers) about those Big Monster Sets they’ve been doing in practice (or as the swimmers have coined them, BMS’)!  The BMS’ are paying off.  Congratulations Izzy and David!!

2. Upcoming Meet Info:  What follows is a review of upcoming meets and commitment deadlines; this does not include SST Conference Meets.  It’s a good idea to commit ASAP so you do not miss any deadlines.

3. How to Sign Up for Meets:

Parents are reminded ALL SWIMMERS MUST COMMIT OR DECLINE by the entry deadline for each meet and ALL SWIMMERS are expected to participate in the meets listed for their group on the meet schedule.

To find out all you need to know about any particular meet go to the Schroeder home page and scroll down to the list of meets.  To review meet information on a particular meet, click on the name of the meet and follow the links.

To enter your swimmer in a meet, scroll down to the list of meets.  Click on “Edit Commitment” for the meet (enter password if necessary).  Then click on Undeclared Athletes, scroll to your swimmer’s name, click on the name, commit (put yes) in the declaration box, and click on the save changes box.  Once the swimmer is committed, you may choose the swimmer’s events or have the coach choose the events (recommended).

If your swimmer cannot attend, follow the previous steps and put no in the declaration box.  Please use the message box to explain why the swimmer is not participating.

When you’re all done, make sure you click on the save changes box.

4. Schroeder Conference Meets:

The Schroeder Conference meets are for swimmers in AG 2, AG 3, Super 8’s, Schroeder Stars and Schroeder SuperStars.  If your swimmer is in this exciting program, please check the Schroeder Conference Info section weekly, written just above the Schroeder South section.

5. Practice Schedule Link: Schroeder South Practice Schedule

6. Spring Session Fee Payment:
