Dear Mr de Laszlo,

I thank you for your letter of July 22nd,^[1] and I will keep the portraits [8882][8976] here until you come to Paris in September, and after you have seen them and given me your advice about them I will then have Knoedler attend to the varnishing and washing during my absence in America next December.

I am leaving Paris for the summer on August 16th and not expecting to return till September 20th, so if you are here before then, just telephone the house and come and see the portraits, otherwise if you are here after the 20th, I hope you will give me the pleasure of lunching or dining with me, when we can discuss the matter together.^[2]
