B1st STEAM FUTURES Hub Description

B1st STEAM FUTURES (BIPOC 1st Nation, STEAM For Us Towards Ultimately Reaching Exceptional Success) Hubs are a service that HLU offers children and adults in the BIPOC 1ST Nation community. The services are a part of our partnership with organizations, post-secondary institutions, corporations and industry.

As a part of HLU our services are Culturally Responsive, Trauma-Informed and Restorative.

We align experiences, interests and passions with education/training for careers where the B1st Community can thrive in areas they are passionate about. We want more for our communities than just a living wage but a career that we can be excited to work in while thriving mentally and economically.

Our team and partners work within our values and curriculum to deliver fun, effective, and STEAM lessons. We come together to create differentiated and safe places for our communities  to learn and explore, build on their interests and gain experience and skills in exciting career paths.

A Hub is a school based program that is ndividualized and diversified partnership focused on the students’ needs within the school. The Hub can meet weekly, bi-weekly or monthly based on resources and time constraints.
