The Town of Freetown periodically hires for positions such as part-time and full-time communications dispatcher (signal operator), part-time lock-up attendant, volunteer auxiliary police officer, part-time reserve police officer, and full-time regular police officer. A number of auxiliary police volunteers are appointed annually.
