Register of Freedmen

The Register of Freedmen in its present form contains thirteen fields of information increased from seven fields in the original record. “Name of Registrant” and “Owner” have been further divided by last, first, and middle names, as well as titles (e.g. Dr.) for purposes of analysis. “Residence” has been divided by city, town, or county and state. Lastly, the final two columns of the original record, “In Health” and “Inferm” [sic], are subdivided as they were in the original, by age and health condition.

C2M, C2F – Class 2 male and Class 2 female

C3M, C3F = Class 3 male and Class 3 female
