1) Label gifts with the facility name and senior’s # and name:

2) Gift receipts are VERY HELPFUL for clothing, shoes, and electronics in case they don’t fit or don’t work.

3) If desired, “stocking stuffer” suggestions are after the available seniors.

There are LOTS of fun ways to help!

See all the info on our:

🎁 🧑‍🎄  2022 Holiday Drive Info Page   🧑‍🎄 🎁

SPECIAL NOTE! Most of the Seniors Depend on Donations from Our General Wishlist (not Adopt-a-Senior)

NOTE: We are unable to get personalized Adopt-a-Senior wishlists for MOST of the seniors without family. Donations from our general gifts wish list help make sure these seniors are remembered, too!

This sweet little 92-year-old lady asked if she could keep the “pretty bag” her blanket and lotion came in! She was even excited by the gift bag!

We currently have about 99 men and 51 women relying on general wishlist donations to get a gift for the holidays! Please help them feel loved, too!

ADOPT-A-SENIOR FOR 2022

12/18 - All of the wishlists we were able to collect have been fulfilled. All additional donations will go to making sure the seniors whose wishlists weren’t collected have a gift for the holidays!

Email us to be added to a notification list for the

2023 Adopt-a-Senior holiday season!

  • A statue or picture of Mary
  • Any size nativity
  • Loves mystery books and religious books. Her favorite books are “The Cat Who…” mystery series. She’s read them multiple times in her life but loves to read her favorites over and over and she misses having them. She would love any of those as a treat (used is fine!)
  • Check them out on THRIFTBOOKS for as low as $3.99 each!
  • Maybe someone wants to adopt Melissa for the whole year and send her one $3.99 “The Cat Who…” book each month to give her something fun to look forward to!

#57 - Sarah W.   (Woman - Austin Wellness #57) - ADOPTED

  • Loves hair bonnets (like a large shower cap, but made of pretty fabric!)
  • Stronger reading glasses (2.5x. The ones she was wearing were 2.0 and she said she really couldn’t see well with them.) - You can get these at Dollar Tree for $1.25! Maybe add a few spare pairs and some 3.0 in case her eyes need more help.
  • (This was her making a joke, not a real wish list item!) She asked for teeth! LOL  She smiled and chuckled when she said it, showing she doesn’t have her teeth and she misses them!

#58 - Kathleen W.       (Woman - Austin Wellness #58) - ADOPTED!

Ms. Kathleen is SO sweet. She can’t talk but completely understands and can shake her head yes or no. She played Hangman by holding up a sticky note with a letter of the alphabet on it and she loved playing Bingo! They give her a little bell she can ring to get their attention when she wants to offer a letter or has Bingo.

  • Please include a gift receipt in case they need to be exchanged for a different size

#76     Estrella    (Austin Retirement and Nursing) -  ADOPTED!

Estrella is on dialysis and has to take a bus to go there. She has no warm clothes at all, so they had to put a blanket around her last time she went. Estrella only speaks Spanish, so the staff member who was translating her wishlist to us suggested these items knowing her situation.

  • Warm jacket in a pretty color (Size Medium) - USED IS FINE!
  • Shirts without buttons. She asked for a red one and was wearing a bright green one, so other bright colors would be great, too. (Size Medium)
  • Sweatpants with an elastic cuff at the bottom to prevent drafts (Size Small - best if they are a cotton polyester blend to hold up to nursing home washing)
  • Sweater or sweatshirt. From the volunteer, “Her sweater looked pretty bad, worn and dull. Maybe a button or zip front sweater of a neutral shade to layer over her shirts. She had on a bright green blouse.”
  • Possible other ideas - GLOVES ($8-11), HAND WARMERS ($6.97 for 10 pairs), THERMAL UNDERSHIRT ($12.99)
