1) Label gifts with the facility name and senior’s # and name:
Example: #4 Kinsey (Austin Retirement and Nursing Center)
2) Gift receipts are VERY HELPFUL for clothing, shoes, and electronics in case they don’t fit or don’t work.

There are LOTS of fun ways to help!
See all the info on our:
🎁 🧑🎄 2022 Holiday Drive Info Page 🧑🎄 🎁
SPECIAL NOTE! Most of the Seniors Depend on Donations from Our General Wishlist (not Adopt-a-Senior)
NOTE: We are unable to get personalized Adopt-a-Senior wishlists for MOST of the seniors without family. Donations from our general gifts wish list help make sure these seniors are remembered, too!
This sweet little 92-year-old lady asked if she could keep the “pretty bag” her blanket and lotion came in! She was even excited by the gift bag!
We currently have about 99 men and 51 women relying on general wishlist donations to get a gift for the holidays! Please help them feel loved, too!
ADOPT-A-SENIOR FOR 2022
12/18 - All of the wishlists we were able to collect have been fulfilled. All additional donations will go to making sure the seniors whose wishlists weren’t collected have a gift for the holidays!
Email us to be added to a notification list for the
2023 Adopt-a-Senior holiday season!

#46 Catherine W. (Woman - Austin Wellness #46) - ADOPTED
Catherine’s #1 Wish:
A wall clock with hands - Any clock is great, but Catherine seems to love fuschia, so one of these might be a special treat…
Things the volunteer said she needs….
(Velcro, front-close, size 34 ½ or 36, A/B cup, any color)
Gift receipt would be helpful (She’s right between a S & M size)
Other things Catherine was really excited about (Pick 1 or 2?)….
#47 Floyce M. (Man - Austin Wellness #45) - ADOPTED
Floyce is a musician and has a guitar he enjoys playing. The only thing Floyce asked for was a watch, so our volunteer looked around his room and asked him about other things she thought he might like or need. We included some options for you from their conversation!
Floyce’s #1 Wish - Large-Face Watch with Hands
Since the watch was the only thing Floyce asked for, if you’d like to get him a little better quality watch and skip any of the volunteer’s “Joy List” suggestions at the end, that works, too!
Recommended
He did not give a watch style or color preference. Any is great, but a guitar watch may be fun for him (we searched for “Guitar watches”):
LINK TO GUITAR WATCH EXAMPLE - $19.99 with leather band
NOTE: It’s fine if the watch arrives after Christmas! We can just put a picture of it in the gift to let him know it’s coming!
Things the volunteer said Floyce really needs (When asked, he said “I like slippers and Sketchers shoes”)….
NOTE: Gift receipts are SUPER helpful with shoes in case they need a different size.
Other volunteer suggestions he liked…(you can pick 1 or 2 if you’d like!)
LINK TO GUITAR PICK EXAMPLE - $3.99-$5.49
#48 Leonard S. (Man - Austin Wellness #48) - ADOPTED!
Leonard is Christian and was listening to gospel music when the volunteer went to ask his wishes. He enjoys the Apostolic Church, praying, and does not watch TV. He had a really difficult time speaking, so it took 2 visits for our volunteer to finally understand he was trying to ask for a cover for his much-loved Bible.
He did not specify any color or style.
EXAMPLES: COVER #1, COVER #2, COVER #3
#49 Hazel G. (Woman - Austin Wellness #49) - ADOPTED
Our volunteer said Hazel has dementia. Your gifts could be such a comfort to her! Here are some gift options specifically for people with dementia and our volunteer’s ideas from looking around her room. Hazel loves Elvis, flowers, and birds. She has a few pictures, artificial flower bouquets, and potted plants.

Here are examples we pulled out for people with late stage dementia.
#50 Barbara “Bobbie” E. (Austin Wellness #50) - ADOPTED
#51 Clarence C. (Man - Austin Wellness #48) - ADOPTED
Our volunteer said Clarence was so cute. When she was asking people’s wishlists, he said “Do you think you could get me a new John Deere tractor???” and pulled an old tractor out of his pants pocket to show her. Clarence is still a kid at heart, asking for toys for Christmas, but our volunteer said what he really needs are shoes without holes in the bottom.
Clarence enjoys sitting on the floor with his tractor and asked if there might be a way he could get a Hot Wheels Monster Truck track. The staff said he could set it up in their activity room or in his room. He loves these things!
CLARENCE’S WISHES:
