Unit Title:Dreamweaver- Web Design-  Grade: 8

Pacing (Approximate)- 5 weeks

Big Ideas/Enduring Understandings:

Students will be able use Adobe Dreamweaver CS6 to create a multi-page portfolio website.  

Essential Questions:

        How does the internet work?

        What is a web server?

        What is the difference between a domain name and a URL?

        What is HTML?

        How do  I create a web page?

        How do  I create hyperlinks?

        How do  I insert pictures?

        How do  I insert a Flash animation?

Students will be able to use the tools in Dreamweaver to create web pages.

Students will be able to resize their Photoshop and Flash projects, save them as an appropriate file type and insert them correctly on their web pages.

Students will be able to create buttons and insert them correctly on their web pages.

Students will be able to use the content specific vocabulary to discuss their work in Dreamweaver.  

Students will be able to reflect and analyze their choices and outcomes of their design and layout choices on their web pages.

Students will be able to troubleshoot and problem solve difficulties in the programs.  

Students will be able to apply the 6 basic rules of web design as they are building their websites.

Students will be able to use appropriate file management skills to organize their documents.
