Dear Mr. de Laszlo
You asked me if I could find out what had happened to the copy [112153] of your Portrait of the Queen of Spain [11168] [1] –
I made enquiries at Kensington Palace – Apparently it was removed from the wall of the Spanish Embassy when

the Republican Ambassador took office and handed over to King George[2] –
The Portrait is now in Buckingham Palace –
Queen Ena is over here for 10 days now and was at Kensington Palace today.
My wife and daughter wish to be very kindly remembered to you and are much looking forward to seeing your Pictures.

[1] An authorised copy [112153] of de László’s portrait of Queen Victoria Eugenia of Spain [11168] was made by the artist’s trusted copyist Sydney Kendrick (1874–1955) in 1926. The copy portrait [112153] currently hangs in the Spanish Embassy, London.
