8.1 Volumes of Cylinders Video Notes

The volume V of a cylinder is the product of the area of the base and the height of the cylinder.

Formula: V = Bh, where V = volume, B = the area of the base (), h = height

Example 1: Find the volume of the cylinder.  Round your answer to the nearest tenth.

Example 2: Find the height of the cylinder.  Round your answer to the nearest whole number.

Example 3: How much salsa is missing from the jar?

Example 4: About how many gallons of water does the water cooler bottle contain?      (1 ft 7.5 gal)
