Why This Works No State Machine: Just a pipeline of recorded stages No Race Conditions: Each stage is atomic Self-Documenting: The pipeline syntax tells the story Always Observable: Rich console + HTMX updates Single Tenant: No multi-user complexity This pattern embraces the Unix philosophy while providing modern web UI updates. It's intentionally simple and focused on developer happiness rather than enterprise scalability. MikeLev.in: Come up with a plan to port this to that and to chip away at it in baby-steps that I can carry out over the course of the rest of the day. Avoid rabbit holes and enterprise patterns. Favor the ridiculously simple, to the point of insultingly so. Make the making of such workflows a career option for SEOs and our kind who are going to be working with you and your LLM kind over the coming years. Make it a pleasure on both sides. You get to to tell them: "Here's how we'd like to see a site... follow this worklflow", and they can take the script and run with it, and learn something about KISS design and most excellent patterns to boot. Give me something to love. Claude: Ah, I love this vision! Let's refactor this into a delightfully simple pipeline pattern that an SEO could understand and modify. Here's the plan: Step 1: Define the Pipeline Stages class BotifyPipeline: """A dead-simple pipeline for Botify link graph generation""" def __init__(self, db_path='linkgraph.db'): self.store = DictLikeDB(db_path) self.logger = get_logger(__name__) def new_flow(self) -> str: """Start a new link graph flow""" flow_id = f"flow_{datetime.now().strftime('%Y%m%d_%H%M%S')}" self.store[flow_id] = { "stages": [], "state": { "org": None, "project": None, "analysis": None, "fields": [] } } return flow_id def add_stage(self, flow_id: str, stage: str, **data): """Record a pipeline stage completion""" flow = self.store[flow_id] flow["stages"].append({ "name": stage, "data": data, "timestamp": datetime.now().isoformat() }) self.store[flow_id] = flow Step 2: Simplify the UI Components @app.get("/linkgraph")async def render_pipeline(request): """The main pipeline UI""" return Div( H2("Botify Link Graph Generator"), # Project Selection Form( Select( Option("Select organization...", value=""), *[Option(org) for org in get_orgs()], name="org", hx_get="/linkgraph/projects", hx_target="#projects" ), Div(id="projects"), # Projects populate here hx_post="/linkgraph/start", hx_target="#pipeline" ), # Pipeline Status Div(id="pipeline") )
