We are excited to announce a new food delivery system to our families of Lee County. We are able to offer free meals to all children under the age of 18 until December 31, 2020. To make it more convenient for our families, we are bundling the meals into 3- and 5-day meal boxes.

In-person instruction students in grades K-2 may receive 5-day box the week of October 5-23 on the following designated days:

Group A: Tuesday

Group B: Friday

Starting October 26th, K-2 in-person instruction students may receive a 3-day box to be sent home on Fridays.

In-person instruction students in grades 3-8 may receive a 5-day box on the following designated days:

Group A: Tuesday

Group B: Friday

INSPIRED Virtual Academy and 9-12th grade students can pick up meals at designated sites on Wednesdays. Please register for meal pick up here.

Families with additional young children are also eligible for 5-day meal boxes. Households that pick up their children from school may pick up additional boxes on designated days. Unfortunately, we cannot send additional boxes home with students on the bus due to the weight of the boxes. We ask that you pick up the additional boxes on Wednesdays.

The USDA requires us to track meals served. We will register each household receiving meals. Car placards will be provided to families to assist in quick meal delivery and accountability after October 23, 2020.

School re-entry brings several changes to the operation of feeding sites. Those changes are outlined below. 1. We will no longer be running buses to community sites. 2. Pre-Ordered Drive-Thru Meals will be available at Hobbton High (910-594-0242), Lakewood High (910-525- 5171), Midway High (910-567-6664), and Union High (910-532-6300). These sites will be serving from 11am to 1pm daily. We ask that you call the cafeteria of the school by 9:00am daily to request your meals and pick up time. You will need to provide your child’s/children’s name, school (if they are enrolled) and age for the meals when ordering. All other sites will be closed enrolled sites with meal service only for students on campus. 3. AA Students will be sent home with 2 days’ worth of shelf-stable meals on Monday and 3 days’ worth of shelf-stable meals on Tuesday. BB Students will be sent home with 2 days’ worth of shelf-stable meals on Thursday and 3 days’ worth of shelf-stable meals on Friday. These meals will cover the days the students are on remote schedule. These students would not be eligible to pick up meals from drive-thru sites. We are breaking the meals into two days to make it more manageable for our students to transport.

For students learning virtually, lunch meals will be provided free of charge for curbside pickup between 11 am- 1 pm at select locations. A student lunch number is no longer required for curbside pickup. Meals are available for all kids under 18 years old, including children outside of UCPS.

Please note that students with special dietary needs indicated by a Diet Order on file will need to call the school from which they will be picking up meals one day BEFORE service to notify the staff of the dietary need. This is due to the “To-Go” nature of the meals and the preparation that needs to go into providing curbside service.

These curbside locations will be at the following schools:
