Fixture/Game Postponement Request - West Cork

West Cork Board procedures to be followed when postponing fixtures,.Failure to follow these procedures can result in financial loss to the club as well as forfeiting points.

To Mentors of all teams competing in West Cork Competitions:

If any team manager is looking to postpone a game

(1) he has to ring the other team , ( 2.) agree a new date within 10 days.

(3)Ensure Referee has been contacted & notified(4)he must inform his club secretary by email (Margie mcSweeney -email:secretarybng.bantryblues.cork@gaa.ie :: text: 0863268978)   & the secretary must then advise by 6pm on Mondays ( Southern Star deadline)  (1) the West Cork Board Secretary by club email  the reason  game  was postponed and the refixture date & (2)cc to PRO of Rebel Og West

Postponement Requests will only be accepted from the Clubs Official email Account

Any game not played within a month club will be fined 50.00 per game.Last year fines were€300.00.

Procedure

Rules re games being not played as scheduled. If games are to be cancelled,  the two teams have to agree a new date, club secretary emails in the reason why the game is postponed and the new agreed date. If game is not played within one month , then both  clubs deducted points and a €50.00 fine.

Why must Board be Advised of Postponements?

• Board need to be aware of changes in scheduled fixtures so that they can take account of cancellation when making future fixtures
• Board needs to keep Rebel Óg Website upto date
• Board needs to have accurate information for weekly fixtures for Southern Star
• Board will be in a position to allocate pitch for other fixture
• Board will be in a position to allocate Referee to another fixture
• Board can reschedule a fixture that has been previously postponed as a result of pitch/ referee availability
• Board needs postponements kept to a minimum to ensure Competitions are completed on time

1. he has to ring the other team & referee
2. agree a new date within a month.
3. he must inform his club secretary by emailing Fixture Postponement Notification form  to Juvenile Club Secretary ( Margie McSweeney -email:secretarybng.bantryblues.cork@gaa.ie :: text:  0863268978                      )   l & the secretary must then advise the West Cork Board Secretary by forwarding a copy of this  email  
4. Any game not played within a month club will be fined 50.00 per game., may have points awarded against them and be liable for referees expenses

To Mentors of all teams competing in Central Competitions:

If any team manager is looking to postpone a game Central Regulations must be followed

Postponement of  League Games: The following procedure to apply:

1. 1)The Chairman or in his absence the Vice-Chairman, must agree to the postponement.
2. 2)Application for postponement, except in exceptional circumstances, must be made at least three days prior to the game.  
3. When a postponement is sought a definite date must be agreed by both Clubs for the refixture and submitted with the request for the postponement.
4. 3)Both clubs must agree to the postponement, except in exceptional circumstances, when the Chairman, may at his discretion postpone a game.

1. 4)Any club unable to play on the date on the fixture plan must get the agreement of their opponent’s to change the date or forfeit the game.
2. 5)If their opponents agree the game must be played in the next fortnight.
3. 6)If the same team can’t play the re-fixture then the game is forfeited and the game and points are awarded to their opponents.
4. 7) If the opponent’s in the first case can’t play the re-fixture then both teams will forfeit the points.
5. 8)The onus rests on the team seeking the postponement to contact the Runaí na Reiteoirí. Failure to do so will result in that team losing the game and shall also receive a fine.
