- Whole Group: Introduce vocabulary: mountain, valley, plain, canyon.

- Small Group: Describe the landforms as high, low or flat.

- Whole Group: Use picture clues to answer questions.

- Independent Practice: Draw a picture of your favorite landform.

- Which pictures show high places, low places and a flat place?

- How would you describe the shape of the land where we live?

- Suppose you were a farmer. Would it be easier to grow plants on a mountain or on the plains? Why?
