5/3 Summer Camp Staff

Looking for outgoing Seniors who would be interested in applying for our summer camp program. We're currently taking applications and gearing up for summer!!

We're currently hiring at least 3 (if not more) full time staff for our summer camp program! We work 1:1 with kids 3-17 with varying levels of developmental disabilities providing them support in the community while enjoying challenging activities. We go on field trips, do crafts, play games, go swimming, hiking and more. It's the kids chance to have fun in a supportive environment while maintaining their independence.

This is a great opportunity for our new hires to get experience working with children with disabilities and providing the kids with guidance and support while having fun at the same time.

We require new hires to be 18, have a HS diploma (we have hired graduating seniors in the past with transcripts that they are on track to graduate) and would be able to pass a background check.

Scholarships (up to $50) are available for high school age candidates.

A locally recognized (Sandpoint/Bonner County) certification is earned for those completing this course.

This is not a Red Cross WSI certification course, but it has many similarities. It is designed to meet the needs of the swim programs offered through the SWAC and Sandpoint Parks & Rec.

This course is highly suggested for any lifeguard who will be expected to teach swim lessons for employers do not require a Red Cross WSI certification for ALL swim lesson staff.

The course is taught by two mature,  highly experienced, and certified Red Cross LGI/WSI’s.

Sandpoint Parks & Rec’s impetus for this program is to educate as many persons as possible as to the importance of swim training and water safety in our area.  We are blessed with an abundance of water, but unfortunately that same abundance comes with a great deal of risk.  Last year Bonner County had 6 drownings. Only 2 survived as near drownings. Fortunately those two were rescued by lifeguards.

3/28 Idaho Conservation Corps

ICC offers paid summer opportunities in natural resource management and conservation work. Our programs give participants the chance to learn more about careers in land stewardship while polishing their professional and leadership skills. For five weeks at a time participants live outside, work hard, and get first-hand job experience—all while getting paid! Our Youth Corps program is open to students ages 16-18. The program dates for this summer are 6/9-7/14 for Session One, and 7/21-8/25 for Session Two.
