Crewe House All Ready for New Occupants

Ambassador Houghton Keeps on Entire Domestic Staff—Flu in London

(By Special Leased Wire.)

LONDON, Wednesday.—The American Ambassador, notwithstanding the important business of closing up his affairs at the Embassy before sailing, on February 18, is finding time to give some sittings, for his portrait to Sir [sic] Philip de Lazlo [sic] [5917]. Mrs. Kellogg has hoped to be able to have her portrait done also before leaving England, but up to the present the larger diplomatic, and the smaller and more intimate, entertaining has been so heavy as to make it impossible.

Crewe House in Order.

No matter what theories Mrs. Houghton may have as to the running of Crewe House from a social and domestic angle after her arrival, it is a distinct tribute to Mrs. Kelloggs excellent management of her home that the incoming Ambassadress means to commence her stay in England with everything at Lord Crewes splendid house going on exactly as it has under Mrs. Kellogg, who is to leave the entire staff in working order for the new tenants.
