Fat Free Biscuits
Yield: about 6 biscuits
2 cups whole wheat pastry flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
½ teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon natural sugar
½ teaspoon salt
1 ¼ cup unsweetened plain vegan milk
1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
2 teaspoons dried herbs, such as dried chives
1. Preheat oven to 400-degrees F. Lightly oil a baking sheet.
2. Combine the flour, baking powder, sugar, baking soda and salt in a large bowl. Stir well.
3. Combine the milk, vinegar and dried herbs in a small bowl. Mix well.
4. Add the dry mixture to the wet mixture and gently mix until just combined.
5. Drop the dough onto the prepared baking sheet in ¼-cup increments and bake until golden brown, about 20 minutes. Allow to cool slightly and serve.
