OLD TOWN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL =

The Charleston Wrap fundraiser is in full swing with the purchased items =

expected to arrive this coming week. We have raised approximately $5,600 =

and possibly more when the final money is added up. Thank you to all who =

participated in sales and in the sorting of merchandise. The sorting =

will take place on November 15 and product pick up is between 2:15-5:30 =

on Nov. 16th. Any merchandise not picked up on this date will be sent =

home with your child on Monday, unless you have made prior arrangements.

The box tops were sent in with a grand total of $1,533. Thank you to all =

the box top clippers, counters and senders. Please continue to save box =

tops; there will be another big gathering time in the spring.

There will be a poetry night on Nov. 30 from 6:00-8:00 at OTES. The =

Poetry Express; as it is called will have poetry readers and activities =

for the children to do. Snacks will be provided.

The PTC is sponsoring a movie gift basket for the Old Town Public =

Library. If you would like to add something fun to the basket please =

bring it to the office and label it specifically for the basket.

The holiday bazaar is coming right up on Dec.1. We have 21 vendors.  The =

ptc will be selling baked goods and other foods. If you would like to =

volunteer to make a food item or to sell the goods on that date please =

check out the volunteer spot. This information should be up soon.

Kevin Hawkes; the author of Library Lion will be our visiting author =

this year. Yeah!!!!!!

Matt Cyr discussed the possibility of a scavenger hunt for the fall. =

This event could be in combination with the open house and spaghetti =

dinner or the foundations of the event will be set on that date with a =

follow up time for the hunt. More discussion and pre-planning will need =

to take place.

Allen Tyrone Johnson has brought to our attention a wholesome music =

program that he is involved in. This program promotes safe music =

listening for children. There may be a possible fundraiser or dance =

event that we can tie into this program that would benefit our students. =

We can further pursue the best time for everyone at a later date.

There will be two informational nights for parents coming up; the dates =

have not been determined as of yet. The topics will be children's safety =

at the 4-8th grade level and internet safety.

OTES and the Rotary club will again join forces for the inside mini-golf =

day. Jeanna is looking into the dates and times.
