Read below for what you should be doing next!![C:\Documents and Settings\mckinleya\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\CPBXME2M\16246-illustration-of-a-graduation-cap-pv[1].png](https://lh7-rt.googleusercontent.com/docsz/AD_4nXfH_1knswN_nmdX13wgae4Kn_CKyKWWGWkVmfM1aZY6bPKS45juQAJM8E1vp_rHpZA03gEY4DmBQBxT1qWHUv0gs6KALUZ-hqVhxy3TtDhEskINNS7ErmRn1FiXMx_PkpgImh68uza6NAVN2UOJ753XfkbmoDbL?key=0Z62UQde9IL_GEOZBOkXKVc1)
All Colleges need these things:
- Request Official Transcript(s): Please request this in the SHS counseling office. There is a computer set up in the lobby to complete an online request. You MUST have payment on the day you make your request. We charge $1 for every transcript you request. If you are requesting online transcripts through SEND Edu or The Common Application, you must pay for those as well. You will receive a notice that states how much you owe.
- Pay application Fee: Most colleges will allow you to complete an online application and some will allow you to pay the fee after you complete it.
- Fill out FAFSA: This is a Free Application for Student Aid and must be filled out between Oct. 1 and June 30th and will use your parents/caregivers tax return information. Note: February 15th is normally the cut off for Tennessee State Money!
- A Final Transcript: In May, your will fill out an online Final Transcript request form. These transcripts will be sent to colleges no later than early June and will be NO COST to the student.
EXTRAS: Some colleges require these items but not ALL! Please check with each university to see if these components are needed.
- Letters of recommendation: These can come from counselors and teachers (must fill out brag sheet so that counselor/teacher can write an awesome recommendation and turn in 10 days before application is due). YOUR PROCRASTINATION IS NOT OUR EMERGENCY.
- Secondary School Report: additional demographic info needed by certain universities/colleges.
- Mid Year Transcripts: Common Application asks for this but is not normal practice for schools not using the common app.
