Congratulations to Annika Tuma who was featured in Pioneer Press last Sunday as the Saint Paul Central Athena Award winner. The paper featured all the winners from the East Metro. Congratulations.

A special welcome to new ninth grade counselor Kyle Johnson. Mr. Johnson works with ninth grade students whose last name begins with the letter A through the letter K.

All ninth grades should know that their counselors are available for appointments. Mr. Johnson and Ms. Welke are offering office hours every day of the week. Make sure to send them an email beforehand to let them know and they will set up a google meet. Ms. Welke’s email is Ashley.welke@spps.org and Mr. Johnson’s is Kyle.johnson3@spps.org. Available times for Monday,Tuesday, Thursday, Friday are 9:30-10:30 and Wednesdays are at 1:30-2:30.

Netflix just released 10 free documentaries. Go to the Netflix Youtube channel to watch today. Many documentaries recently posted at the Netflix youtube site are relatively new releases or fan favorites in classrooms across the country.

Since all of your classes are online, make sure to remember the online conference guidelines. Be ready to start on time, dress appropriately, and find a quiet place where there’s nothing inappropriate in the background. Finally mute your mic when you’re not talking and be respectful in the chat.

In sports, we are taking it way back to 2008. Down 18-6 with 5 seconds to go in the game. Central rallied to score two touchdowns, take the game to overtime, and beat Saint Paul Johnson to win the conference championship.  Stay tuned after the show for video of this amazing sports moment in Central high school history.
