Seated three-quarter length, slightly to the right in a red high-backed armchair, her head turned full-face and looking directly to the viewer, wearing a red-gold gown heavily draped with a swathe of black silk, a patterned organza stole around her arms, a long pearl necklace entwined around her left hand which is raised to her neck, her right arm resting on the arm of the chair, all against a dark red background
