UKWW - Smash UK Discord Online Tournament Ruleset

Ruleset:

3 stocks, 7 minutes

DQ timer: set to 10 minutes for the first round, then 5 minutes for each subsequent round. Please do not allow a set to start later than 20 minutes after it is called/after the initial DM. We can’t police this, so it is down to you to make sure you play your set in good time or risk DQs.

All sets will be Bo3 except for winners finals, losers finals, and grand finals, which will all be Bo5

Stage striking:

  • First game stage picking is done using regular stage striking through neutrals. player 1 bans 1 stage, player 2 bans 2 stages, and then player 1 bans another stage to leave you with 1 final neutral. Play on that stage.

  • After the first game, the winner bans 2 stages. The loser picks a stage out of the remaining ones and you play on that stage.

  • Repeat this process for all subsequent games.

  • After the set, please report the result on the challonge bracket.

  • Lower seed bans first, if you are going to be picky about who bans first (but first ban is up to you!)

If the winner of the game is changing character, they MUST say so after doing the stage strike process.

  • Smashville
  • Lylat Cruise
  • Pokemon Stadium 1

Counterpick stages:

  • Town & City
  • Yoshi’s Story
  • Kalos Pokemon League
  • Unova Pokemon League

Dave's Stupid Rule: OFF

DSR states that you are unable to return to a stage you previously won on in a set unless agreed to by the opponent.

Dealing with disconnects and lag:

Please be considerate about your connection. Anyone found to have really bad connection will be DQ'd.

If players disconnect, if they both agree to it, they can restart the match. However, if the disconnect happens a 2nd time during their set or one of them does not agree to restart the game, then the person who disconnected will be DQ'd.


Only 1 person per console, please. Having more than 1 person on a console during the tournament delays it by a lot.

You are allowed to quit out of a match within the first 30 seconds if there is lag. Issues will be dealt with case-by-case, but this is a general rule of thumb.
