- Happy Thanksgiving!
- First Annual “CASH FOR THE HOLIDAYS” Raffle: With only 3 weeks left to sell our raffle tickets, time is truly short. Turkey, football and raffle tickets, don’t they all scream Thanksgiving? Make sure you pick up extra tickets at practice this week so you’re well stocked for those family gatherings. Coaches always have extra tickets with them; just let them know you need more.
Remember to drop off your ticket stubs to the coaches before or after practice, and keep up the great work! Thanks to everyone who continues to go above and beyond their required number of tickets.

- Clinics - Schroeder North clinics are posted and will be available for registration on Thursday, 11/27 in the morning. Limit 24 per clinic. These clinics will take place at the WSAC. See Schroeder South section for info on the Schroeder South Start and Turn Clinic.

After the awards presentation, there will be a Conference Holiday Social for all participants and their families. Milk and coffee will be provided for everyone. Please bring the following if your last name begins with:

Schroeder South
1. A Great WGLO Meet:
Congratulations to all who competed in last weekend’s Western Great Lakes Open. The team had a fabulous over all meet, and our swimmers swept away personal best times event after event.
Individual High Point winners were Kaylyn Schoof in the 11 & 12 girls age group, and Holly Stoll in the 13 & 14 girls age group.
New meet records were established by Kaylyn Schoof in the 50 Back and 200 IM, and by Mason Schoof in the 200 Free. Kaylyn and Mason also swam to numerous team records. Kaylyn set new records in the 11 & 12 50 Back, 100 Back, 100 Fly and 200 IM, and Mason set two new records in the 13 & 14 100 Free and 200 Free.

2. Swimmers of the Meet for WGLO:
After each USA/YMCA meet, one female swimmer and one male swimmer from South’s Age Group 1, Age Group 2, Age Group 3, Super 8, Schroeder Star, and SuperStar Groups will be acknowledged as the Swimmer of the Meet. A number of criteria will be considered for this honor, including meet performance, attending all sessions of the meet, practice attendance, improvement, sportsmanship, positive attitude, swimming an event for the first time, etc.
Steven Gorski, our male swimmer, is making quite a habit of earning Swimmer of the Meet honors. Steven was a first time qualifier at WGLO and represented himself and the team well in the 50 back, 50 free, 50 breast, 50 fly and the 100 free.
Portia Pavelchik and Izzy Doczy are our co-female Swimmers of the Meet. Both are also first time qualifiers, and both had very successful meets, each in their own way. Portia, who just turned 9, swam best times in the 50 back and the 100 free, and also swam the 50 free. Izzy swam best times in the 50 back, 100 IM, and also swam the 50 free, 50 breast, 100 back and 100 free after recently missing a week of practice due to strep throat.
All three of these athletes are 10 & Under’s, and they are the first of the Schroeder South swimmers from this age group to qualify for this meet. This year they swam well at prelims. Next year they’ll lead additional swimmers in the prelims and finals of the WGLO Meet.
Way to go Steven, Portia, and Izzy!
3. Schroeder South Start and Turn Clinic:
Schroeder South will be offering a clinic over the winter break for the first time. It will be a start and turn clinic available to AG1, AG2, AG3, Super 8, Schroeder Star and SuperStar swimmers.
Interested swimmers can sign up as they would for a meet beginning next week. Registered swimmers will be billed for the clinic through their team account. Space is limited.

5. Bella’s Schroeder Wear Store & Elsmore Team Equipment
Now Open For Holiday Shopping until 12/8/14:
To make it easier to order custom team Schroeder Wear from Bella’s, we have structured an online Bella’s Schroeder Wear Store. The store will be open for three 2 week windows per year. These are the only weeks in which orders will be taken:
a. 11/24-12/8/2014 - orders to be delivered by 12/19/14
b. 4/20-5/4/2015 - orders to be delivered by 5/15/15
c. Fall 2015 dates TBA
We have two delivery addresses, one for Schroeder South and one for Schroeder North, to make it easier for parents to receive their order. Be sure to indicate if your shipment should go to SS or SN. ALL ORDERS MUST BE PLACED BY 12/8/14 TO BE DELIVERED BY 12/19/14.

7. South Think Tank (SSTT):
We’re forming an official SSTT membership group for parents willing to commit to attend all 4 SSTT meetings a year (September, November, January and May) to develop consistency, so watch for an email. If you’re interested in becoming an official member, please let Bob know. All are welcome. It’s a great way to meet other parents, give your input, and help strengthen our team.
The next SSTT meeting is Monday, January 19th at 6:30 p.m. at Front Room Photo, 2637 S. Kinnickinnic Ave, Bay View. We plan to have our official SSTT members in place for the January meeting but as always, it’s open to all parents. A big thanks to the Laber family for offering their beautiful studio space for our 11/3 meeting and hosting our 1/19 meeting.
8. Signing Up For Meets On Your Swimmer’s Meet Schedule:
To enter a meet, click on the swim team home page, and scroll down to the list of meets. Click on “Attend/Decline” for the meet (enter password if necessary). Then click on Undeclared Athletes, scroll to your swimmer’s name, click on the name, commit (put yes) in the declaration box, and click on the save changes box.
Once the swimmer is committed, you may choose the swimmer’s events or have the coach choose the events (recommended).
If your swimmer cannot attend, follow the previous steps and put no in the declaration box. Please use the message box to explain why the swimmer is not participating, and then click on the save changes box.
If you have questions, do not hesitate to ask.
