The booklets below include details of how we report to parents and Key Stage 3, 4 and 5 and includes further information for parents on how they can support their child’s learning at school. This booklet is distributed to parents with the first Progress Report of each school year:

KS3 Achievement Indicators
- As well as the whole school curriculum overview available here, a detailed breakdown of what is taught in each Key Stage 3 (Years 7-9) can be found below:

- Students are assessed on their understanding of content taught to date. This can include content taught in previous years.
- Using a range of assessment information, teachers allocate one of four ‘Achievement Indicators’ to describe the level of understanding of the curriculum taught to date:
Working beyond | The student has a strong understanding of the curriculum content and they are often working beyond the scope of the core curriculum. |
Secure | The student has a secure understanding of the majority of the curriculum content |
Developing | The student is developing a secure understanding of the curriculum content but there are still significant gaps |
Emerging | The student does not have a secure understanding of much of the curriculum content but some understanding may be emerging |
- Teachers use regular formative assessment in lessons to identify gaps in knowledge and understanding and address these
- Please do speak to your child about what they have been learning in their subjects. They should be able to talk about the content included on the curriculum maps above.
