Updates and reminders for the week ending on  Sep 13, 2024

This Unit We Will…

Math:  This week we began our division unit. We are starting by estimating to find a reasonable answer. Next week we will dive into long division! (Module 2)

ELA: In ELA this week, we learned about different aspects of the Nez Perce culture such as food, clothing, and shelter.  We worked in small groups to create presentations on these different topics which we shared with the class.  We also continued our vocabulary study and worked with sentences containing prepositions.

Science:  Students are continuing to learn about the human body systems. We are studying the skeletal, muscular, respiratory, circulatory, and nervous systems.

Social Studies:   We are continuing our study of the Nimiipuu (Nez Perce) people. Students are studying the culture and lifestyle of the Nimiipuu. They are working on creating presentations about various aspects of Nimiipuu life. They started their presentations Thursday.

We Need Your Help

This year 5th grade will host an activity at the Fall Festival on Friday, October 18 from 3-6 pm.  We are so excited about our Frog Flinger carnival style booth.  We need your help! Click here if you are interested in volunteering. We don't need many prizes this year as we have a good amount leftover from what you purchased last year (glow rings, tubes, wands and Pokemon booster packs). If you are interested in donating a prize click here. Please bring prizes purchased to your Kingfisher’s teacher by October 9.
