SSDP values your privacy. Your contact information is stored securely and payment information adheres to or exceeds mandated standards. SSDP will not sell, rent, trade, or transfer your personal information to outside organizations. Use of donor information will be limited to the internal purposes of SSDP and only to further the mission of SSDP. If you would rather not be acknowledged as an SSDP donor in annual reports, on our website, or in other publications, please check the box indicating this when making your gift online.

I. To be informed of SSDP's mission, of the way the organization intends to use donated resources, and of its capacity to use donations effectively for their intended purposes.
II. To be informed of the identity of those serving on SSDP's governing board, and to expect the board to exercise prudent judgment in its stewardship responsibilities.
III. To have access to SSDP's most recent financial statements.
IV. To be assured their gifts will be used for the purposes for which they were given.
V. To receive appropriate acknowledgement and recognition.
VI. To be assured that information about their donation is handled with respect and with confidentiality to the extent provided by law.
VII. To expect that all relationships with individuals representing organizations of interest to the donor will be professional in nature.
VIII. To be informed whether those seeking donations are volunteers, employees of SSDP or hired solicitors.
IX. To have all personal information kept private.
X. To feel free to ask questions when making a donation and to receive prompt, truthful and forthright answers.
Unrestricted gifts support SSDP’s day-to-day operating expenses and cover the cost of staff support for our growing network of students. Gifts greater than $5,000 are eligible to be restricted to a special project or geographical area when aligned with our mission and priorities and pending a conversation with SSDP staff. SSDP accepts gifts only from donors who do not seek to undermine or compromise the independence of our members’ activities or to otherwise attempt to influence our mission or priorities.
If you have made an error in making your donation or change your mind about contributing to SSDP, please notify us within 15 business days of your donation and we will honor your request for a refund. To request a refund, please contact us at ssdp@ssdp.org or 202-393-5280. Refunds are returned using the original method of payment. If you made your donation by credit card, your refund will be credited to that same credit card.
