Pros | Design is much nicer. Looks more professional. Strap is easy to remove with a small lever. Screen Resolution is quite nice. SAMOLED only lights up a few pixels when in standby. Heart rate monitor is a nice touch, but only use it as a novelty. Sylvain’s response: Has a heart rate monitor over the LG. Is a little bit cheaper in $. | I really like the charger that just sucks the watch to stay on with a magnet. I find the battery to last at least a day and I use my watch quite a bit so that’s good; as long as you’re okay with charging your watch once a day (just like your phone you’re good to go). Nice looking all black look. Mark’s response: LG has bigger battery, but SAMOLED has better efficiency while screen is off. Magnetic Charger is nice, but clip on really is not that bad. |
Cons | Would still like better battery life. OS is slow and stuttery at times, but probably more Wear's fault. Had a few times I had to restart the watch. Swiping to dismiss is too easy sometimes. I Swipe away a notification I don't want to get rid of. Needs to be able to stick some notifications. Also, notification overlay on the watch face can get annoying and obstruct the watch face. Sylvain’s response: The way you have to snap the watch on the charger, Ugh! | Some people have complained about random reboots; I had none so far. I’m not sure I like the rubber bracelet and I might start looking for another one. Have used the steps monitor but found it to be inaccurate so it is now disabled. Mark’s response: Pssh, LG fanboi lol |
Why you chose it overall? | The hardware is solid. Feels great and looks good. Still not subtle enough to avoid attention, but not always a bad thing. Android Wear does still need some work and apps, but it's on the right track. | I liked the overall all black look of the watch. The watch is LG and I own a Nexus 5 that is also from LG although this is a stupid reason. The battery was the biggest of the two although the screens between the two are different. Looking forward to see how Android Wear will progress and I’m glad that there will be a 2 years upgrade guaranteed from Google. |
