How to integrate your course into a Learning Management System

  1. If you want to integrate your XYZ Homework course into your school’s Learning Management System, you would first want to create your course in XYZ Homework, make any edits such as adjusting due dates, or adding & removing questions, then once your course is ready, you would click on Export from your course homepage:

  1. From this screen, select your LMS, then click download cartridge, then follow the instructions listed in the link below the Download Export Cartridge button.  Do not check or uncheck any boxes on this screen - they should be appropriately checked based on your school’s settings (if your school has a global LTI 1.3 connection established, the first box would be unchecked.  If your school does not have a global LTI 1.3 connection, the first box would automatically be checked).  For Canvas users only, the last box can be checked if you want to allow Canvas to set/change due dates after integration:

  5. When you integrate, you would not give out the course ID to your course, and students would never go directly to www.xyzhomework.com.  Instead, in integrated courses, students would only access their assessments directly in their LMS.  Here is a guide on how students enroll and access their homework in an integrated course: https://xyzhomework.com/support/enrollment-activation-lti 
  6. If you encounter any issues integrating, please reach out to support@xyzhomework.com for assistance.  In many instances, you may need to get your school’s Learning Management System administrator involved.
  7. After integrating, grades will automatically transfer from the XYZ Homework gradebook, to your Learning Management System’s gradebook.  In the event a grade does not automatically transfer, you can push that grade over from the XYZ Homework gradebook to your Learning Management System’s gradebook by doing the following steps:
