NAME(S) ON TILE: BEESON FAMILY
DONOR NAME(S): PAULINE R. SEMANS
This is to pay tribute to the pioneers who braved the unknown and traveled the trails from what was Virginia to what is now southwestern Pennsylvania and to recognize those who had the fortitude to settle in this area while it was still a frontier wilderness.
A particular tribute is given to honor Henry Beeson who, with his wife and infant child, trekked this route and founded Uniontown, Pennsylvania, in 1776 on the same day that the Declaration of Independence of the United States of America was signed. Special recognition is bestowed upon my grandparents, William Barton Beeson and Henrietta Robinson Beeson, who chose to remain in this area, and their children, my mother, Sarah Beeson Semans; William Barton Beeson, Jr.; and Henry Robinson
Beeson.
