Share Your Quest House Story

Quest House must move out of its current home before May. We’re creating a community video to help raise $1 million toward securing a new home, so Quest House can continue providing affirming recovery lodging and support to our community.

If you’re a former or current guest, caregiver, loved one, volunteer, medical provider, or community member, we invite you to record a short video about what Quest House means to you for use in our upcoming fundraising and awareness campaign! Written testimonials are also warmly welcomed.

Submissions are due by Monday, October 19th, 2026.

What to Say: Share QH’s Impact

You don’t need a script or a perfectly rehearsed speech; please speak from the heart about QH’s impact, legacy, and future! Respond to 2-3 of the following questions in full sentences and aim for 30 - 90 seconds of footage. Please only share details that feel comfortable and safe for you. You do not need to discuss your surgery, medical history, or other private information.

  • Who are you, and what's your connection to Quest House?
  • How has Quest House impacted, supported, or changed your life or the life of someone you love?
  • What does Quest House mean to you? Is there a particular moment, memory, or experience that stands out?
  • How is Quest House different from other places someone might stay after surgery?
  • What do you wish more people understood about the importance of a by-us, for-us healing space like Quest House?
  • What would be lost if Quest House could no longer provide this care?
  • What would it mean to you, and to future generations, to know that Quest House has a stable, permanent home?
  • What would you say to someone who has the opportunity to help secure Quest House's future?

VIDEO TESTIMONIAL INSTRUCTIONS

How to Film On Your Phone

  • Record with your phone horizontally (turned sideways)
  • Clean your camera lens before filming
  • Place the phone at eye level and keep it steady. Prop it against books or use a tripod if possible.
  • Frame yourself from about the middle of your chest upward.
  • Face a window or soft light. Don’t sit with a bright window or lamp behind you.
  • Choose a quiet space and silence notifications.
  • Look into the camera lens rather than at your image on the screen.
  • Don’t use filters, virtual backgrounds, or background music.
  • If possible, record using your phone’s rear camera at its highest quality.

Before and After Speaking

Press record, look at the camera, and wait quietly for three seconds before beginning. When you finish, keep looking at the camera for another three seconds before stopping the recording. This gives our editor room to work. It’s completely okay to pause, restart, or record a few versions. A natural, heartfelt video matters much more than a perfect one.
