Your kind letter reached Vienna “just in time” before my departure; and from there I have made a short trip here, where I am using my first free moment to let you know my approval

approval of the arrangements you have made regarding the picture [5572]; I am very happy to know that after the short exhibition in Berlin, my son^[1] will be able to take possession of it around the 6th of next month, which is something he has been much looking forward to; and I am also awaiting the Heliogravure; and following your instructions will settle my debt of 1000 Marks.

M. Méry [sic] has also sent a small bill, for £19/16, for the delivery of two picture frames; and provided the frames have been made to your satisfaction, I will pay this as well.

I hope you received the copy of “Az Újság” which I sent packaged up from Vienna, and that you liked Kozma’s^[2] article. If you need any more copies, I can send them.

My gardener sends word that although this year the Isabella grapes

grapes are less sweet and flavoursome than usual, he is sending a small crate of them as a sample. I wonder what state they will arrive in? Let me know if I should send more. –

I wait to hear the news – I hope good – of your dear wife;^[3] please give her my regards. I go to Budapest tomorrow, where I will remain, barring one or two small excursions. With cordial good wishes,

Becses leveledet „just in time” éppen elindulásom előtt, Bécsben vettem kezeimhez; s onnan kis körúton ide jutottam hol első nyugodt perczemet felhasználva, helyeslésemet

lésemet fejezzem ki a kép miatti szíves intézkedéseidről; én is igen örvendek, hogy a Berlini rövid kiállítás után, fiam már jövő hó 6ka felé a kép birtokába fog juttni [sic], melyet ő már várva vár; éppen úgy várom a Berlini Heliogravurt; s szíves utasításod folytán ottani 1000 Mka tartozásomat, ki fogom egyenlíteni;

M. Mery szintén küldött kis számlát £19.16ról, 2 szállított kép keretről; mely összeget –feltéve, hogy a keretek utasításod szerint jól elkészültek, – neki ott kifizettetem.

Reménylem az „Ujság” lapban, Bécsből +kötés alatt küldött, Kozma czikke, tettszését nyerte? és ha kell, a lap néhány példányát, megküldhetem.
